This 18-room, 3- story historical brick home was built in 1923 by twin doctors – Harry and John Gambill.  It overlooks the small town of Blaine, Kentucky, which is a reminder of Whistlestop in “Fried Green Tomatoes”.

At the Gambill Mansion, you are pampered even before your arrival. We cater to your "special interests" and specialize in the details.  Packages range from "romantic to rustic".  Exquistely decorated with comfort in mind, The Gambill Mansion offers three suites which includes a bedroom, parlor and private bath. (Additional rooms are available to groups)

If you’ve come to "just relax", you’ll find the wicker on the spacious front porch a great place to visit or enjoy a cup of coffee by the fireplace!

You’re only a walk away from finding "unique things" at the country stores – like honey w/honeycomb, laundry bluing, cast-iron ware or enjoying a hand-dipped ice cream cone.  And, if they have time, they’ll tell you "the way it used to be"…

We are surrounded by mountains and winding country roads; but, only a short drive (approximately 30 minutes) from Interstate 64. It's a perfect place from which to explore the many wonderfully historic and cultural attractions of the area.  Our central location, just 30 minutes from Grayson, Louisa and Paintsville, allows easy access to :

  • The Country Music Highway
  • Loretta Lynn's Homeplace
  • Staffordsville Flea Market (authentic to the area)
  • Central City Antiques District

Horseback riding, canoeing, boating, swimming, hiking, fishing, hunting and "local festivals" are other enjoyable activities nearby.
